Double Entry Post

So I know you've been waiting for it.....today is the day....a comment on this post is worth 2 entries in the contest for a $25 gift certificate to The Loopy Ewe!  We are 1/2 way done with the contest, so keep the comments coming!!!

My Story:

So last we left off.....I had an AVM.....and was off to see the brain surgeon (oh....maybe I forgot that part last time!)  There are 2 ways to treat an AVM....surgery or radiation....my AVM was about the size of a half dollar....it looked like brain surgery was in my future (YIKES!!!)  We had a final test to do on July 25th to see if surgery was safe and scheduled surgery for the 26th.  While waiting for the 25th I got hives from my seizure medicine.....went off seizure meds....fought through a lot of fear about having another seizure....needless to say I learned to depend on God as never before!!!   He was definitely at work and never left me.  Monday I will share some of the verses I really depended on at this time, but today is your day to share!!!

What is your favorite Bible verse and why???

So what has been on my needles?   Here is a sneak peak!

Surprise, surprise....it's a sock!  One down, one to go!  This is a pic of the lace that runs down the top!  It's gray, so....wonder who it could be for.....oh yeah.....mom!!!!  (I'm not sure this gray photographs very accurately....we'll see if I can get some daylight pictures later)  The second sock will have to wait a couple of days to start....I had started a hat with this yarn....it was too small....had to frog it last night.....after it had sat for a year....the yarn needs a bath....must wait for it to dry.   In the mean time I'm going to work on my Secret Prayer Swap Sock and my spinning!  (Might even cast on for DH's socks...we'll see)

Have a super weekend and be sure to leave a comment.....favorite verse and why.....or any other comment will do too...remember it is worth double!

  2. "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord,... plans to give you a hope and a future.... you will seek me when you fine me with all your heart." Jeremiah 29:11,13

when I get worried or discouraged, I remember this, and am encouraged to know that God has the plan, and if it's His plan, it will be good.

  3. You know the favorite Bible verse used to be such an easy question. But now it is so hard. There are so many great ones! But right now my favorite (mainly because I'm pregnant) is all of Psalm 139. One of the girls at our church quoted it during worship right after we found out we were pregnant (my second) and I just cried and cried. I don't think I'd ever really heard the whole thing together and there is so much more in there than just about us being knit in the womb. Amazing stuff!! Especially for us ladies who seem to always have a problem with feeling like we are worth it.

BTW I also posted on my blog today about my contest so make sure you get that entry too. :)

  5. I honestly don't have a favorite. :) There are many verses in the book of Psalm that have given me comfort.

I can't even begin to understand how scared you had to be.

  6. I'm not that familiar with the bible but there's one that goes "Whoever believeth in him [shal not prish]" I think it writen as Jesus speaking of his father but I can't remember it well. Does it sound familiar?

  7. I have lots of favorite Bible verses but here I will share the one I depended on most when you (we) were going through this:
    Proverbs 3:5&6
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
P.S. the socks are beautiful! Thank you!

  12. Thought this was going to be easy, but when you start to think, there are so many precious verses, but I love this one in Zephaniah 3:17. Can you just imagine that our God does this!!! "The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing." Whoa!!

  17. Keep going, I see the promise around the corner coming for you.

I have like others several favorite verses, ones I know by heart, and new ones I find as I read daily.

But when times are hard I always try to remember this one

    Isa 40:31
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint.

  18. Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! ~Psalm 46:10

  19. It's tough to pick a favorite, but one of the most comforting, to me, is Rev. 21:4a, which says "He will wipe every tear from their eyes." Hope the spinning is still going well! =)

  20. Sorry I haven't posted until now.... I was hesitant at posting my two favourite verses because they aren't encouraging or anything, but they make me happy.
    Psalm 92:10
"But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of a unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil."
I love that verse simply because it proves unicorns are real, hee hee.

    And: Psalm 139:13
"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb."
Because it's cool to think I share a hobby with God.
