Well I was making great progress on my second sock....almost finished the gusset...and then I thought to count stitches....what? why only 64 instead of 68? Seriously I had make 2/3 of a sock with the wrong number of stitches.
It is frogged and in time out!
I just can't face it right now. I do know how this would happen. I cast on one morning in DC in a hurry to have something for the knitting circle....while I do a lot of math....a lot....I not good at counting!
Oh man... I wonder if I would have just had a smaller sock, LOL.
ReplyDeleteDid you try it on before you ripped it? 64 stitches is the number I always use.
ReplyDeleteIs this a little drastic for 4 stitches? Oh well, now you'll have the joy of knitting this project again. I do love the yarn.
ReplyDeletePoor Leah! Can you define "frogging" for us knitting-illiterates?
ReplyDeletebut that yarn is beautiful!!!!!!!!!! I would have just had a thinner sock. I know, I sock.
ReplyDeleteYou'll love them all the more when you return to finish them :)
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the reasons I don't knit socks. I would've kept going for 4 stitches...or added some....
ReplyDeleteI'm figuring out that counting is not really part of maths. Bummer about the sock.
ReplyDelete(my verification is somber. Good for this post.)
