Yummy

Until a couple of months ago I had never had creme brulee, and now I'm making it!  My advisor had DH and I over for dinner, and her husband made us his favorite!!! Plus he shared the recipe with me :)   I made them once before, but didn't have the torch to caramelize the top....I tried caramelizing in the broiler, but it recooked the custard and wasn't quite right!  Now I have a torch!  and they were oh so good!

I think this would be a perfect dessert for entertaining.  You make them ahead of time (up to 2 days) and just torch the top before serving leaving plenty of time for you to be with your guests!

Knox being weird...not sure why she is under the rug, but she stayed that way for a long time!

This is my story of God working mightily in my life....and then:

After the first round of tests (following the seizures that landed me in the hospital) the doctors said I probably had one of the following:

1. A tumor in the brain
2. An infection of the brain
3. MS

Now I don't know about you, but I didn't like those options.  They all seemed very scary and I wanted to be healed.  I drew close to the Lord and trusted Him for His healing of whatever it was....I didn't accept any of these options.  So off to more tests to see what was really going on.

  4. Very Scary...I read backwards on your blog and was relieved to hear that its and 8yrd old story...Hopefully you're fully recovered.

I've never had Creme Brulee because it reminds me of Flan, which I dont like. And Flan is annoying to make (I dont like to cook anything on a stove, oven, hot plate, toaster, grill (electric or other wise), etc) do you see where I'm going... LOL

  5. Knox is just being a sneaky ninja cat. Better hope that she does not get any sneakier or you may be in trouble.

  6. I love making creme brulee, but hardly ever do it since I'm the only one who eats it. The caramelized top looks great!

  7. Whenever I hear Creme Brulee I think of that movie... "My Best Friends Wedding"When Julia Roberts refers Cameron Diaz to Creme Brulee and herself to JELLO, lol

I have never tried it though.

  15. Man I'd be asking for other options too. None of those are good. Can we have choice number 4 none of the above please. :)

  16. I've never had Creme Brulee, of course I am only fourteen so I have some time, lol! Cat in the rug? Just staring? Sounds like plotting to me.

How very scary. I pray that never happens to anyone I know, or anyone at all. Seriously frightening, how could you ever handle news like that?

  18. Those options sound to me like the doctors were trying to prepare you for the worst before they were even sure. They never want to say "I don't know" so they say someting frigntening instead. You were wise to trust the Lord above the doctors.

  20. Creme brulee...I tried making it at home but I think my ramikins are too shallow. The torch melted the custard before all the sugar melted. Boo.

    Thanks for sharing your story.
